Ive received a lot of inquiries for child portraits involving kids under the age of 1 since I’ve started photography. Many of you may know that I only photograph kids that are at least the age of 1 or older simply b/c I don’t think I am capable of producing high quality professional portraits for kids who can’t walk yet. I wouldn’t know how to pose a baby that can’t walk yet to make the photo compelling. Well, that rule still applies, but I’ve decided that I want to try newborns that are up to 4 weeks old. I’ve met some photographer friends that specializes in nothing but newborns. Their work is absolutely amazing and they’ve inspired me to give newborns a shot. So here we are, my first newborn sessions. Both of which were 1 day apart from the other. Meet Landon and Londyn. Landon and Londyn have very similar names and they’re both the same ages, but they don’t even live near each other. I thought this was a really cool coincidence. Oh yea, and they both pee pee’d during our session =) Anyways, the difference between newborn photography and the rest of my photography is: you have to have some MAJOR patience. Luckily patience is a virtue that I possess =) Both sessions took about 3-4 hours respectively and my snap count was super low, meaning, we had about 30 minutes worth of actual shooting time. The rest of the time was spent feeding, burping, rocking, singing, sushing. hahaha. Here’s the funny part, I can’t wait to get more newborn sessions! The end result is just absolutely precious. AND, I’ve been introduced to the world of Ross, T.J. Maxx, Marshalls for baskets and blankies and hats to use as baby props. So that’s my story on newborn photograpy. Let’s welcome baby Landon and baby Londyn to our wonderful world.

Sorry, Londyn didn’t have a cool name piece on the wall for me to use as an introduction picture, but she will after I design her storyboard =)

This is my favorite image of the entire shoot. The very first thing I noticed when I walked in were these shelves, but I was hesistant to ask mommy if she was up for the idea. I wanted to wait until the end of our session to throw out the idea. Well, I didn’t even have to, mom suggested the idea for me. Love it!

This past July 4th, while other families and their friends around the US were gathering to celebrate Independence Day, my family and friends joined together to witness the union of two very special people, my brother Henry and my new sister-in-law, Jackie.
Henry and Jackie are the first to get married for siblings on both sides. Because of this, family traveled far and wide to share in their joy of marriage.
The ceremony was a Traditional Catholic Ceremony held at Christ the King on the LSU campus and was lead by Father Than Vu. He was as inspiring that day as he is every Mass.
The wedding party consisted of long time friends and a few family members. Jackie’s Matron of Honor was Teresa and her bridesmaids were Pebbles, Lawan and Henry’s sister, Nancy. Henry’s Best Man was Vu and his groomsmen included two of his brothers, Chris and Jason, and his long time buddy from high school, George.
Words cannot express the happiness I feel for my little brother, Henry, and my sister-in-law, Jackie. They’ve been together for so long, 9 years to be exact, and everyone knew this day would be one to remember. I hope I did my part not only as the photographer but also as a big brother.
For so many brides and grooms the wedding day is over so fast, leaving them both grasping at bits and pieces of memories from the day. I am here to capture the moments they remembered and also the ones they missed. I hope that when the both of you, Henry and Jackie, look at the moments I captured from your wedding day, you will be able to relive the joy and excitement you two shared as well as the love and support we all have for you.
Congratulations Henry and Jackie on a wonderful wedding and an even more wonderful life together!

I really wanted to have a nice write up for this blog. My brother’s wedding is this weekend and I have family coming in left and right. I still haven’t packed my equipment yet, and I still can’t find a tie for my suit =( Sooooo….. In not so many words, Minh and Lan, you guys are truly one of the sweetest couples I have had the pleasure to work with. I call it work, but it truly did not feel like work at all this weekend. Your family and friends welcomed us as if we were family members attending your wedding instead of photographers. And did I mention that we got fed THREE TIMES?!??! Goodness! I don’t even get to eat that much on a regular day, much less while Im working a wedding. Thank you guys so much for your hospitality. Congratulations to Minh and Lan!

These next two image would be pretty ordinary if they were shown individually,
but by putting the two images of mother and daughter crying together, this becomes an extradinary photograph. My favorite image!~
