It was bright and sunny on the westbank where I stay at, so I was shocked when Nancy called me to see if I had a backup plan if it rains. Her stylist, Joann, from Make Me Pretty called to say that it looked like it was about to storm on her side. Since they both drove all the way down from Baton Rouge for the session and Tim already rented his tux, they decided to press their luck. It poured down in Metairie when I left David’s studio to head out for the session. To my surprise, it was dry and clear at City Park, so I just sat there and played the waiting game. Nancy and Tim got caught up in the New Orleans traffic, so they ran behind a little bit. Clouds starting looming over the park as I waited, so my plan was to get as many grass shots as we could and save the Sisters of Two Pavillion for the rain. As soon as they arrived, I rushed them out to the grass. Sure enough, after a few snaps, it started pouring down, so we drove over to the Pavillion to find that another photographer had already beaten us to the spot. It was raining too hard by that time to get out of the car anyways, so we sat there for about 10 minutes. I called Nancy to tell her we can always reschedule another session, but to just wait it out, we’re going to get something out of THIS session. Another 10 minutes passed by and the rain finally lit up just enough for us to find cover and start our session. I cant believe that Nancy was still able to pull our her smiles for the session despite how bad the situation was. (Many thanks go to her fiancee Tim for this). At the end, we were still able to get the shots we needed, and the umbrella shots ended up being my favorite shots of the session. Congrats to Nancy and Tim. I will see you guys in July!
